Penalties provided for in the new Russian law on electronic subpoenas

In Russia, threatening subpoenas have been issued. Potential conscripts are promised to be punished with "restrictive measures" for failing to appear at the military commissariat.

According to the Baza Telegram channel, a conscript from St Petersburg, in particular, has recently received a new version of the summons. In the corner of the document, there is a stamp with a warning (to see the photo, scroll down to the end of the news).

"Attention! In case of failure to report to the military commissariat within the prescribed time limit, restrictive measures will be imposed on you," the summonses threaten.

Restrictions for evaders appeared in the new Russian law on electronic subpoenas, which Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on April 14.

According to the law, if a conscript does not report to the military enlistment office within 20 days, he will be banned from taking out loans and credit, as well as registering as an individual entrepreneur, real estate and cars.

Driving will also be prohibited.

An electronic summons will be deemed to have been served from the moment it is posted in the Russian's personal account on the "relevant information resource".

In addition, a notification of the summons will be sent to the personal account on the Russian public services portal. If it is not served in writing or electronically, it is deemed to be served after 7 days from the date of posting in the register of summonses.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Russia wants to create an electronic register of conscripts by autumn - a kind of "digital Gulag" under the control of the FSB. It should increase responsibility for evaders and contain all the data of those liable for military service.

- In Moscow, students have begun to receive summonses, and security forces are raiding dormitories and apartments to fulfil the conscription plan as quickly as possible..
