Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine registered 75 thousand cases of war crimes of occupants

The office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has registered more than 75 thousand cases of war crimes by the occupation army of the Russian Federation in our country. The more territories our defenders liberate from the invaders, the more evidence of Russian crimes prosecutors receive.

Attorney General Andrei Kostin said this on Wednesday, April 19, when he addressed the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. The full text of his address was published on the OGPU website.

"For example, when the Ukrainian military liberated Kherson in November 2022, the same barbaric crimes were found there as in Bucha and other cities of Kyiv region, Sumy, Chernihiv and Izium," the Prosecutor General noted.

According to him, only in Kherson and the de-occupied part of the region more than 13 thousand criminal proceedings were opened for crimes committed by the Russian military. Law enforcers recorded the deaths of 908 civilians.

Also in Kherson oblast, about 20 prison camps and a number of other places where the occupants detained and abused Ukrainians were discovered. Documentation was found indicating a direct link between the prisons and the Russian special services.

According to CNN, Kostin also said that the OGPU has already discovered 310 potential perpetrators of crimes and "completed cases against 152 potential war criminals."

Ukrainian courts have so far convicted 31 Russians for war crimes in Ukraine.

"Kostin urged the international community to share intelligence information to help his office convict likely war criminals, noting that they have identified thousands more but do not have enough evidence to convict these likely criminals," the report said.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, Russia continues to commit cruel and cynical crimes against civilians in Ukraine, including children. At the same time, the Kremlin is trying in every way to deny Russia's guilt for the crimes and even involves so-called agents of influence in Europe for this purpose.
