No places, prices risen: the situation with rest in the Carpathians this summer
This year Carpathians are one of the most popular vacation destinations for Ukrainians. Therefore, prices have increased significantly and it is better to book places in advance. However, these factors do not stop vacationers.
The flow of tourists in the summer of 2023 returned to the pre-war level, local experts told the journalists of RBC-Ukraine. Most of all Ukrainians are attracted to the resort Bukovel and its surroundings (to see photos, scroll to the end of the page).
Despite the rise in prices, vacationers have occupied all the hotels that are easy to reach. You can still find offers in more remote places, but the road to get there will be harder.
"Bukovel and its surroundings are fully populated, I do not remember such a situation even in winter. Accordingly, summer prices have increased by 50% compared to previous years", said Ihor Hubilit, director of the tour operator "Vidviday".
There are almost no places for the next dates on the official website. Some hotels have rare cases when rooms can still be booked.

Ukrainians should be prepared that there is much less chance of finding an open spot in popular regions in easy access than in remote estates. However, the number of places to enjoy the mountain air has increased this year. Owners of houses, hotels and estates have once again opened their doors to vacationers.
In addition to passive recreation, tourists are also attracted by various tours and excursions. However, their prices have also increased by 15-20%. The reason was the new price tags from the carriers, travel agency explained. Fuel prices have increased significantly this year.

Ukrainians still have a chance to book a vacation in the Carpathians, although they will have to pay more than in previous years. Experts advise to look for accommodation in less famous settlements like Kosmach, Kolochava, Lower Apsha. Prices there are more affordable and the views are not inferior to the famous tourist spots.
