Popular odor-neutralizing ingredients, such as baking soda and vinegar, are undesirable when cleaning a thermos. So a simple but very effective solution will come in handy. It's so familiar that you might doubt its effectiveness. However, those who have already tried this life hack say that this amazing combination works wonders.
All you need is water and sugar. The water should be non-carbonated. The solution neutralizes unwanted odors with minimal effort.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1. Pour 3-5 tablespoons of sugar into a thermos, pour warm water and mix.
Step 2. Fill a saucepan with clean water and place the thermos inside. The thermos should be completely immersed in water, so choose a container that is deep enough.
Step 3. Boil the water in the pot and leave it for a few minutes. For maximum effectiveness, repeat the procedure 2 times. Then carefully remove the thermos from the pan and pour out the water and sugar.
Finally, rinse the thermos thoroughly with running water. Unpleasant odors will disappear and the thermos will be ready for use again.
