Multiple champion of Ukraine in rowing killed in battles with Russian occupiers in Bakhmut

Master of Sports of Ukraine in rowing Oleksandr Dykyi was killed in the fighting in Donbass. The tragedy, which occurred on April 16 in Bakhmut, was reported on social media by his daughter Anastasia.
The 42-year-old Dykyi was a multiple champion of Ukraine. At one time, the Ukrainian four-man swing team of Oleksandr Dykyi, Volodymyr Yerchenko, Volodymyr Vlasenko and Serhii Hryn took 4th place at the U-19 World Championships in Plovdiv (Bulgaria).
During his sporting career, Oleksandr trained in Kyiv at the Vodnyk Rowing Base with Mykhailo Lukianenko and Vira Frantzan.
"Dad, I would so much like you to be with me, to see your grandchildren, to be at my wedding, but life has decided otherwise. I don't want to believe that you are gone so badly. That I will never feel your embrace, that I will never hear your voice, that you will simply not be there at all, it's hard for me, very hard, it's such an unreal pain that I will never wish on anyone," Anastasia wrote on her Facebook page.
For those who want to help Oleksandr's family, the Ukrainian Rowing Federation has published the details.
