Laundry will dry twice as fast: a simple life hack
In winter, and especially in circumstances with frequent power outages, ensuring that laundry dries quickly becomes crucial. There's an interesting life hack that can expedite the drying process by twice the speed.
This straightforward method, widely utilized by UK residents, was detailed by The Sun.
The Facebook group "Mrs. Hinch's Cleaning Tips" suggested employing a sheet to accelerate the drying process.
"A little trick I learned for the winter is to take a clothesline and an extra sheet. Simply wrap the sheet around the dryer, secure it to a radiator or a heated fan, and it will retain heat, drying your clothes faster," she explained.
The life hack is effective because the sheet helps maintain a warm pocket of air below, leading to significantly faster drying of clothes.
Another option is to position the dehumidifier near the area where the laundry is drying.
In a discussion with The Express, Chris Michael, the managing director of Meaco, clarified that dehumidifiers can offer long-term cost savings compared to a tumble dryer.
Previously, OBOZREVATEL explained why drying clothes on radiators is not advisable. The water evaporating from clothes due to heat doesn't vanish entirely—it persists as steam in the room air. The quicker items dry, the more steam accumulates in the room.
