A powerful explosion was heard in the Russian city of Kursk on Sunday, August 20, around 03:20. Smoke was seen in the area of the railway station.

It can be seen that smoke rose above the station. Scattered shards of glass are around the building.
According to Russian sources, firefighters and law enforcement agencies were called to the scene.
"According to preliminary data, the AFU carried out an attack on the Kursk railway station with the help of a UAV," said Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are With Russia movement.
A little later, Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoit announced that people were wounded in the incident.
"According to preliminary information, it (drone - Ed.) crashed into the roof of the building of the railway station, after which there was a fire on the roof. Five people received light injuries from glass shards. Details are being clarified. All operational services are on the spot", the Governor said.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the air defense allegedly shot down an S-200 missile "converted into a strike variant" over Crimea on the morning of August 19. Shoigu blamed the "Kyiv regime".
