Kuleba launches festive online flash mob for foreign colleagues

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba launched a flash mob to mark Ukraine's Independence Day. The official "sang" the Ukrainian national anthem on social media and invited his colleagues from other countries to join the initiative.

Kuleba's original rendition of the national anthem was posted on Twitter. The Ukrainian minister wrote the first line of the song, "Ukraine's glory and freedom have not yet perished..." and then tweeted the foreign ministers of Iceland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Sweden, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom and others.

Foreign officials took up Kuleba's initiative and each left a line of our national anthem in Ukrainian in the comments to the post, although as of 16:53 they had not yet reached the end of the song.

On 24 August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukraine and Ukrainians on the 32nd anniversary of the declaration of independence. For the second year in a row, the country has been celebrating the holiday amid a full-scale war, so he dedicated his address to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - those who defend and give the state its independence.

The Ukrainian leader once again stressed that he believes in the victory over the aggressor and that soon all Ukrainians will be able to return home - from the trenches or from abroad - after returning peace to our land.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported:

- World leaders congratulated our country and people on this holiday and assured them of further support. They are confident that Ukraine will be free;

- due to the danger of enemy air attacks, mass events in the capital are again banned, but official celebrations will take place: foreign guests have arrived in the capital, and an exhibition of damaged occupiers' equipment is being held in Kyiv. Our publication is following the festivities online.
