Is there nothing to fear? Three facts about turbulence that will surprise many

Turbulence is not one of the most pleasant times during a flight. Some people are about flying for that reason alone. However, strangely enough, flight attendants love air pits.
Former steward Jay Roberts from the prestigious Emirates airline told Daily Mail. He assured that one should not be terrified of turbulence.
"I know airplanes don't crash because of turbulence. The possibility of encountering severe turbulence is very low," the steward noted.
Roberts also added that when he feels turbulence as a passenger or crew member, his inner child feels the "jolt" like a roller coaster and enjoys the journey. Flight attendants love turbulence because it's a welcome break and rest time for them as passengers then don't "run" to the restroom or get bored with requests.
Roberts said turbulence can be divided into three categories: mild, moderate and severe, "Mild is what you normally encounter when flying. The seatbelt sign is likely to appear, but the crew remains active in the cabin and will move around it without changing their behavior."
Roberts said that flight staff will step away from duty, suspend service completely and dispense hot drinks during moderate turbulence.
Severe turbulence should be reported by the flight captain over the loudspeaker. The flight crew will repeat to keep the seat belts fastened from time to time.
Suitcases on the carry-on shelves can fly around the cabin and injure passengers, which is why it is important to pack all heavy and hard items there. However, Roberts said that he has never encountered severe turbulence in 13 years of work.
