How to wash a carpet in 20 minutes: the effective Turkish way
Vacuuming up dust and dirt is not enough to clean a carpet. Over time, even fluffy carpets lose their softness and elasticity.
The easiest thing to do, of course, is to take your carpet to the dry cleaner. But there are a few effective lifehacks, which will not only help to remove contamination, but also return the initial softness of the pile. OBOZREVATEL dealt with how to launder a carpet in 20 minutes.
This method is very popular in Turkey. Locals are known to adore carpets and lay them everywhere in the house. Turkish carpets are favored by tourists from all over the world.
Usually carpets are cleaned by hand and use a simple and affordable means - washing powder. For white products choose a powder with a bleaching effect, for variegated and monotonous coverings take the usual means for colored things.
Next, the secret ingredient is added. Ammonia will enhance the effect of washing powder. Pour 1 liter of warm water into a container, add the powder and dilute with a tablespoon of ammonia. If you need more water - just observe the proportion 1:1.
Before washing the carpet, be sure to wear a mask and gloves. Soak a brush in the foaming solution and wipe the carpet in circular motions.
When the entire carpet is covered with foam, leave it for 20 minutes to allow the product to work. Then soak a sponge in clean water and remove any remaining foam.
By the way, to renew an old carpet and lift the pile will help soda. It is advised to rub it into the fibers with a dense brush. Soda should be left for a few hours, or better overnight. Remains of crystals are removed with a vacuum cleaner and wipe the carpet with warm water and powder.
