How to whiten bed linens that have lost their whiteness

White sheets are popular not only in hotels; many people opt for a minimalist design for their bedrooms instead of bright prints. However, there is one significant drawback - even high-quality bedding tends to turn gray over time.

Expensive detergents do not always succeed in revitalizing grayed sheets. OBOZREVATEL has devised an effective life hack that can quickly and inexpensively whiten bedding at home.

This method is very old and is popular among older people. You need two ingredients - potassium permanganate and laundry soap.

Dilute the potassium permanganate solution in a container of water. You do not need to bring it to a bright color. The water should only turn slightly pink.

Rub laundry soap on a kitchen grater. Two tablespoons will be enough.

Add the soap to the potassium permanganate solution and soak the sheets. Do not wash immediately - let the bedding lie in the solution for several hours. Then wash the sheets in the usual way in a washing machine.

You can also use bleach and boil the sheets in boiling water.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL told you why you shouldn't dry clothes on radiators. The water that evaporates from clothes under the influence of heat does not disappear without a trace - it remains in the form of steam in the room air. And the faster things dry, the more steam accumulates in the room.
