It is necessary to clean the baking sheet from burnt fat not only because it forms ugly stains. A layer of burnt fat disrupts thermal conductivity, which can affect the cooking time of dishes and can also negatively affect the taste of the cooked food. So, as you can see, it's not just about cleanliness but also about cooking efficiency.
Even old and stubborn grease stains can be removed from a baking sheet with baking soda and vinegar. Start by making a paste. To do this, pour 10 tablespoons of baking soda into a suitable bowl and add three tablespoons of vinegar and four tablespoons of hot water. Add the vinegar gradually to control foaming. If the paste ends up being too runny, add more baking soda until you get a creamy consistency that is easy to spread.
Take out a baking sheet (make sure it's not too hot to burn yourself) and cover it with the baking soda paste. Pay special attention to the most soiled areas. Leave the mixture on for a few hours and then remove the residue with a sponge and rinse the baking sheet well with water. If you can't remove all the dirt at once, repeat the procedure.
