Lampard returns to Chelsea

Frank Lampard, a legendary footballer, has been appointed the new head coach of Chelsea until the end of the season. This is the second time the 44-year-old specialist has come to his home club after completing his playing career, during which he played 648 matches for the Blues in all competitions.

This is reported by the official website of Chelsea, whose colours are defended by Ukraine midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk. It is not known whether Lampard's contract has a contract extension clause or whether a long-term agreement will be signed with another specialist at the end of the season.

"It was an easy decision for me because this is my club. I am glad to get this opportunity. I am confident in myself and understand the team well. During this period, I will do my best to give the fans what they want with all my heart. The explanation of my role speaks for itself, but I'm not getting ahead of myself. I want to do my job as well as I can and in a way that can make a difference to the club. I want to do everything I can until the end of the season, and after that we'll see what happens," the legendary footballer commented on his appointment.

On April 2, after a home defeat to Aston Villa, the Londoners announced Graham Potter's resignation. Under his leadership, the team played 31 matches (12 wins, 8 draws, 11 defeats). His interim successor is Spaniard Bruno Saltor, who led the Blues to a 0-0 draw with Liverpool last Tuesday.

In his coaching career, Lampard has also worked with Derby County and Everton, where Vitaliy Mykolenko started playing in England under his guidance.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol expressed confidence that Ukrainian Chelsea footballer Mykhailo Mudryk "looks lost" in the team.
