First underground school to be built in Ukraine: children will be able to study even during Russian army attacks
The first underground school will be built in Ukraine. An educational institution that will meet the most modern regulatory requirements for protective structures will appear in Kharkiv.
This was announced on Telegram by Mayor Igor Terekhov. He emphasized that investments in education will not be reduced either this year or next year, despite the lack of budget funds.
Terekhov also noted that the presence of an underground school in the city will allow thousands of Kharkiv children to continue their safe full-time education even during missile threats from the Russian terrorist state.
We remind you that at the beginning of this school year, the world's first school in the subway was opened in Kharkiv. More than a thousand students are already studying there. Most of the students are on the deeper platforms of the University and Peremoha subways. In total, 61 classes have been formed, although the authorities plan to increase their number to 68.
Some children left their school to study in the subway. This temporary expulsion provides for the child to retain his or her place in the school where he or she previously studied, but allows him or her to attend important subjects offline, said Olga Demenko, head of the city's education department.
