Propagandists complained about the UAV attack, claiming that one of them hit Expocentre on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment near Moscow City. However, they claimed that only a partial destruction of the outer wall in one of the pavilions on an area of about 30 square meters was recorded.
Russian authorities reacted to the strike as well. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that "the drone was destroyed by air defense forces during an attempted attack on the city" According to him, the wreckage of the UAV fell in the area of Expocenter, but "no significant damage to the building was reported."
As a result, the Russian Defense Ministry blamed Ukraine for the "attack on Moscow," claiming that it was "a Ukrainian UAV that tried to attack facilities" in the capital of the aggressor country.
"The drone was hit by an air defense system and fell near Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. There are no casualties or fires," the agency reported.
A video of the explosion near Moscow City on the dark morning of August 18, which was allegedly "attacked by the Ukrainian drone" appeared online. The police and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation came to the place of the "debris fall" already at dawn.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claimed a new attack of marine drones on the Pytlivyy and Vasiliy Bykov ships of the Black Sea Fleet. The terrorist agency says that the surface drones were destroyed by fire from the ships' onboard weapons.
