"Everything is going according to plan": since the beginning of the full-scale war, Putin has changed commanders in Ukraine 17 times

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has calculated that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has changed the commanders of the occupation forces 17 times. He regularly fired generals who did not bring him the expected victories.
This is stated in the report of the Institute for the Study of War. Thus, Putin changed the commanders of the entire group of Russian troops in Ukraine three times.
Interestingly, the name of the military officer who led the invasion of Ukraine in the first weeks of the full-scale war is still unknown. The ISW believes that the Russian president probably wanted to present himself as a skilful commander-in-chief and take credit for the success of a lightning victory that never happened.
"Seized Russian military plans showed that the Kremlin expected Russian forces to capture Kyiv in a matter of days, and Putin probably wanted to declare the invasion a personal geopolitical victory. Putin has no military experience, which may have further contributed to his decision not to appoint a commander for his invasion who could have ousted him, taking credit for the expected dramatic victory," the report said.
The analysts also counted the number of times the dictator has changed the leadership of Russia's military districts. The record holder is the commander of the Western Military District, who has been replaced four times.
The commander of the Eastern Military District has been replaced three times, and the Southern and Central Military Districts twice each.
Putin has also changed the commander of the Airborne Forces three times, twice to the same person.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Vladimir Putin ordered additional changes in the military command and officially dismissed the head of the Eastern Military District (EMD) Rustam Muradov and the former commander of the war against Ukraine Alexandr Dvornikov.
The former top occupier "disposed" of the Russian army near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, while the latter was also known for his alcohol abuse.
