On the night of Friday, March 24, explosions occurred in Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast. This settlement has been occupied by the occupiers as a result of Russian armed aggression since 2014.

This was reported by local channels on Telegram. As noted, it is likely that the defenders of Ukraine arranged powerful "cotton" pops for the Russian occupiers. The invaders could have received a "greeting" from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system.

According to eyewitnesses, there was a powerful explosion. The footage posted online shows that a massive fire broke out afterwards.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet officially commented on the data on "cotton" pops in occupied Horlivka.

"Did the Russians smoke in the wrong place again? We are waiting for details from the General Staff!" the We Are Ukraine channel wrote.

It should be noted that the day before, the "cotton" pops occurred in Russia-occupied Donetsk. As a result of the explosions in the city, an ammunition depot and enemy personnel were destroyed.

On March 20, Russian air defence systems were triggered over Donetsk, and the invaders shot down their aircraft. The pilot managed to eject, and it is known that he managed to escape.

Although the occupiers were quick to claim that a Ukrainian drone was allegedly shot down, according to preliminary data, the invaders could have shot down their Su-27 or Su-35 over the city.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, on March 20, the occupiers' railway junction in Dzhankoy, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, was attacked by drones. This attack demonstrated that Russia is unable to defend the occupied peninsula, and potentially its mainland, with air defence.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported that Russian NK-calibre cruise missiles were destroyed in the explosions in Dzhankoy, which was captured by Russia.
