Desolation and ruin: how do resorts Kyrylivka and Genichesk, which previously welcomed many tourists, look under occupation. Video
Empty beaches and looted recreation centers. This is how popular Ukrainian resorts Kyrylivka and Genichesk look after the arrival of Russian "liberators". Locals, who have been under occupation for a long time, are posting videos and complaining about invaders engaging in terror and looting.
For example, recently a video appeared on the YouTube platform showing the current view of Kyrylivka, located on the shore of the Azov Sea in Zaporizhzhia. Before the war, hundreds of Ukrainians came here in the summertime to bask in the sun and have a good vacation. It was a popular budget resort. Now we see only empty beaches with no one there.
"Where the Russian world comes, everything dies," another local resident comments on the sight of the tourist destination in his video. He shows an abandoned street in the city, where a non-working Ferris wheel stands.
The lack of tourists is a big problem for Kyrylivka, which practically lives off the beach season. But this is not all that the occupants have brought to the city. So residents say that a few weeks ago there came to the resort Russians from Penza, who break down the doors of recreation centers and health resorts and steal from them. In addition, they take the wooden houses standing by the sea to the front line so that the invaders can live in them.
The situation is no less critical in Genichesk, on the Black Sea coast. In the fall of 2022, fleeing Kherson, the Russians moved their headquarters to this once-successful town. In the occupation it faced the same problems as Kirillovka.
Videos are appearing on the Web that show the current appearance of the beaches. Even now, when the sea has largely warmed up and the temperature on the coast rises to 25-27 degrees, there is not a soul here. Even the locals, who are under constant pressure from the invaders, do not come here.
The Ukrainian military decided to change the situation by recently sharing an interesting recording. They made a phone call to a hotel in another Kherson resort, Skadovsk, which is also under temporary occupation. The marines asked the receptionist if they could book 25-27 beds. They were offered to stop by in the second half of June and were promised spaces in the parking lot, where the defenders decided to put their tanks.
So our servicemen have already chosen the dates when they plan to rest on the seashore in the Kherson region, which has been liberated from the Russians.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL told how Ukrainian cities were practically destroyed before the war.
