Defence Forces hold Bakhmut despite occupier's assaults, Ukrainian defenders continue "demilitarisation" of enemy - General Staff

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are holding Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, despite the occupiers' assault. At the same time, the defenders continued to "demilitarise" the enemy in various directions, striking at the control points, areas of concentration of manpower and equipment of the invaders.

This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, published in the evening of March 24. It is noted that during the 394th day of the war, the aggressor carried out 40 air and five missile strikes, more than 20 shelling from MLRS on the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure of populated areas, as a result of which there were casualties among civilians.

The General Staff warned that the threat of further missile and air strikes throughout the country remains high.

At the same time, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarsk sectors. The Defence Forces repelled over 38 attacks there.

In the Bakhmut sector, the aggressor continues to assault Bakhmut, as well as in the areas of Orikhove-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske and Stupochky in the Donetsk region. They fired on the settlements of Mynkivka, Orikhove-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Predtechyne, Oleksandr-Shultyne, Zalizne, Severne and Toretsk.

In the Avdiivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarsk sectors, the enemy attempted to attack in the direction of Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Siverske, Pervomaiske and Peremoha in the Donetsk region, but was unsuccessful.

Avdiivka, Tonenke, Netaylove, Lastochkine, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Peremoha, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Zolota Niva in the Donetsk region came under numerous hostile attacks.
