Cristiano Ronaldo to continue his career in Saudi Arabia

Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo will continue his career in the Saudi Arabian team Al-Nasr, AS.com reports. The 37-year-old striker has only one offer, which became known in early December. No other options have been received from any European clubs, the media outlet said.

After the recent termination of his contract with Manchester United, Cristiano is without a club. After the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he is resting in Abu Dhabi.

Al-Nasr's offer suggests that Ronaldo will receive an annual salary of just under €200 million a year. It is specified that the decision to transfer was allegedly made on December 20, after a meeting between representatives of the Arab club and the Portuguese's agent.

In the summer, there were rumours that Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea or Napoli were interested in signing Cristiano, but by December 2022, Al Nasr was the only club left with an official offer.

"From my point of view, the situation with Cristiano is a bit of a soap opera, but it's very important publicity for Al Nasr," Al Nasr's French coach Rudi Garcia told AS a few days ago. Riyadh is set to host the Spanish Super Cup (11-15 January) and the club could use the extra attention to secure a new signing for Cristiano.
