CNR: Wagner mercenaries leave Belarus due to lack of earnings
The lack of wages forces the fighters of the Wagner Russian private military company to leave the territory of Belarus. Their number allegedly decreased from 5.8 to 4.4 thousand.
This is reported by the Center for National Resistance. Analysts refer to the data of the Belarusian underground.
Information sources among the guerrillas in the republic confirm that the reason for the current situation with the Wagner soldiers is the cessation of their financing by the Russian Federation.
Thus, a certain number of mercenaries signed new contracts and went to African countries, while others went on vacation.
Some fighters are considering joining other terrorist groups in the future, while some plan to leave the mercenary sphere completely or change their activities.
At the same time, it is noted that the current economic regime in Belarus does not meet the expectations of instructors of the company in terms of payment for their services. Therefore, a significant number of instructors are not going to stay in the country for a long time.
The base, where the Wagner mercenaries are stationed, is located about 21 km from the town of Osipovichi. At the same time, the mercenaries of the Russian PMC were noticed 2 km from the border with Poland. They had already attempted to break through from the territory of Belarus.
A few days ago, it was reported that Wagner fighters continue to stay on the territory of Belarus, while the information about them moving to Russia or Africa finds no confirmation. In total, there may be about 4-4.5 thousand soldiers in the country.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Commander of the U.S. Army Forces in Europe Ben Hodges said that the increase in the contingent of Russian Wagner mercenaries in Belarus creates a hybrid threat of invasion into the territory of neighboring Poland. However, if it really happens, the militants will be destroyed by NATO troops.
