China made new statement on war in Ukraine after Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow: there was a rebuke to the West
China once again advocated a diplomatic solution to the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, calling it the "Ukrainian crisis. It accused "certain countries" of deliberately obstructing "peace talks" allegedly in its geopolitical interests.
Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Qin Gang, made a statement to this effect, CNN reported. Which countries are obstructing the peace settlement, he did not specify.
"Certain countries deliberately obstruct peace talks for their own geopolitical interests, and even concocted all kinds of rumors and fallacies to attack and discredit China," Qin said.
He added that China is "neither the maker nor the party" involved in the crisis but "an advocate" that supports a political settlement and promotes peace talks.
The official also characterized China-Russia relations after the leader Xi Jinping's trip to Moscow. He specified that they could become "even more precious in the face of rampant unilateralism and hegemonism." China and Russia will continue to uphold "good-neighborliness and mutual trust," to choose Russia as his first foreign visit in his new presidency was a political decision made after careful consideration, Qin said.
