Fire in the Moscow region on 3 August

On 3 August, another fire broke out in Russia. An oxygen and battery shop at an enterprise in the village of Achkasovo, Moscow Region, located next to a petrol station, caught fire.

Before the fire, local residents heard an explosion. This was reported by Russian Telegram channels.

"There was an explosion near a petrol station in the Moscow region. Eyewitnesses are posting videos of smoke rising above the explosion site. According to them, the incident occurred in the village of Achkasovo, Voskresensk district, at an oxygen and battery plant. There are no other details yet," one of the Russian publics writes.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry clarified that the fire was at the oxygen battery production shop at the Krasny Stroitel plant in the Voskresensky district.

"In the Voskresensk urban district, on Moskovskaya Street, 200 square metres of a non-residential building are on fire. Seven people have been evacuated. The information is being clarified," Russian propagandists quoted the agency's statement as saying.

The plant is "burning with some kind of yellow," eyewitnesses describe the incident.

Russians also say that the explosions continued after the fire started.

The causes of the explosion and the ensuing fire at the chemical plant are under investigation.

Later it became known that the fire covered an area of 300 square metres.

"There are containers with lithium in the burning room, so the fire has to be extinguished with foam, water is ineffective in extinguishing burning lithium - it can enter into a chemical reaction with it," Russian propagandists said.
