During a nighttime Russian attack on Ukraine, an enemy missile in Lutsk hit the Swedish SKF plant, the world's largest manufacturer of industrial bearings. The Russian terrorist strike killed three employees of the plant and injured others.
This was reported by the company on Tuesday, 15 August, Reuters reports. SKF spokesman Carl Bjernstam confirmed the deaths of his employees during a Russian missile strike on Lutsk.
"There was an attack on the city of Lutsk in Ukraine at night, and our plant was damaged as a result of this attack. We are very sad to confirm that three of our colleagues have been killed," said the SKF representative.
Bjernstam also noted that the company will review the consequences of the attack and damage to the plant, but added that the main focus is on its employees and their safety.
According to local authorities, three other people were injured and one person was rescued from the rubble.
According to the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office, three workers - men aged 27, 52 and 55 - were killed in the missile attack on the SKF plant. All of them were residents of Lutsk.
The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the deaths. Criminal proceedings have been opened over violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"Prosecutors are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian armed forces," the statement said.
