Spanish runner Enrique Llopis was seriously injured during a race in the final of the European Athletics Championships in Istanbul. The incident occurred at a distance of 60 metres with hurdles.
The 22-year-oldLlopis had a good chance of medals, but the last hurdle became an insurmountable obstacle for him. Having stumbled, the Spaniard fell head first onto the track surface at full speed and remained motionless.
