A huge fire broke out in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on the morning of September 3 in the vicinity of the Ruchi oil depot. Explosions were heard in the city and a tall column of black smoke rose above the scene.

According to Russian media reports, the fire broke out near the Ruchi oil depot in the city's Krasnogvardeysky district. Eyewitnesses say they allegedly heard the sounds of explosions near the scene (videos are posted at the bottom of the news).

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the RF said the fire engulfed a hangar with an area of 80 by 10 meters at 125 Piskarevsky Prospekt. It was reported at 10:59 (Moscow and Kyiv time). 12 units of equipment and 60 firefighters were sent to liquidate it.

The fire increased to level 2, but there is no information about casualties at the moment.

The network writes that gas cylinders and fuel were allegedly stored at the site of the fire.
