A helicopter carrying Iranian Sports Minister Hamid Sajadi crashed on Thursday evening while landing at a sports complex in the city of Baft. Several passengers were injured and taken to medical centres in Iran.
Witnesses say the minister got away with minor injuries. One or two of his companions were more seriously injured during the landing. All were hospitalised for examination, IRNA reported.
An eyewitness said he saw the victims being evacuated to hospital.
The governor of Kerman, Mohammad Mehdi Fadakar, said that there were 12 passengers in the helicopter with the sports minister who were injured in the crash. Their condition is stable.
"The helicopter landed once, then took off, and the second time it crashed. The causes of the accident are being investigated," the official added.
