Syretsky Arboretum (Podilskyi district, Volodymyr Salsky street)

The history of the arboretum dates back to the end of the XIX century, when a famous banker, Karl Meyer, founded a demonstration park of ornamental crops. Some of the trees planted back then have survived to this day and witnessed many historical events. Today, the Syretsky Arboretum is located on an area of 6.5 hectares and is home to more than 1,150 species of plants from all over the world: North America, China, Japan, and the Far East.

In the fall, you will admire the bright colors and enjoy the tranquility in the lap of nature. Fans of house plants will be able to buy a new pet in the pavilion located on the territory. The park is also home to many cats that can be found walking along cozy paths.

Kyiv's Paris (Pecherskyi district, Ivan Franko square)

The idea of creating this quarter belonged to the architect Georg Schleifer, who at the end of the nineteenth century began implementing a plan to build the estate of Professor Mehring. The large-scale project even included a pond with baths, but nowadays this place is Ivan Franko Square.

Today, you can visit the Franko National Drama Theater, see a two-story house with a glass dome, the Neo-Renaissance Ginzburg House, and the Continental Hotel, which is now a conservatory building.

Kyoto Park (Desnianskyi district, Kyoto str.)

Park of Eternal Glory (Darnytskyi district, 15 Lavrska street)

Located on a steep slope, the park is divided into two terraces - upper and lower. The first part is a large observation deck from which you will contemplate the breathtaking panorama of Kyiv. From this place you can see the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, and behind the earthen ramparts of the bastion you can see the domes of the ancient Church of the Savior on Berestovo. The lower tier has playgrounds, gazebos, and various green spaces.

There is also a complex dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, which is still under construction. Sculptures of a girl, angels, and the centerpiece - the Candle of Memory - have already been installed.

Trukhaniv Island

Not only one of the largest islands in Kyiv, but also one of the oldest on the Dnipro River. In ancient times, it was the residence of the wife of Prince Sviatopolk Izyaslavych, and later it became the village of Olzhychi, belonging to Princess Olha. Before the Second World War, the village of Vodnykiv was located here.

Nowadays, on Trukhaniv Island you will find several beaches, a bicycle route, and entertainment complexes. Here you can have a picnic on the banks of the Dnipro River, or take a break from the bustle of the city under the crowns of rare trees, which in autumn shimmer with different shades from yellow to bright red.

Mariinskyi Park (Pecherskyi district, Hrushevsky street)
