What to make delicious pumpkin porridge with, besides millet: sharing an idea
Traditional pumpkin porridge is most often made with millet. But if you don't like this kind of grain, you can choose plain rice. The consistency is quite thick, and the taste will pleasantly surprise you.
The idea of making a hearty pumpkin porridge with rice is published on the Instgaram page of food blogger Oksana Bilinska (oxana_bil). Don't forget to add butter.
Ingredients:
- 500 g raw pumpkin (grate on a coarse grater)
- 100 g of rice
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- vanilla sugar
- a little cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger
- 300 ml of water
- salt (to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Cook everything until the pumpkin is soft.
2. Add 500 ml of milk.
3. Reduce the heat to minimum.
4. Cook until the rice is tender, making sure to stir from time to time.
5. Serve with butter.
