Mititei is a dish of Moldovan origin. These are minced meat products that are very similar to our cutlets. But there are differences. Mititei have an elongated sausage shape. After frying, the products need to be stewed in a cauldron.

Ingredients:

  • pork - 700 g
  • beef - 300 g
  • milk - 1 glass
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 5-10 cloves
  • bay leaves - 3 pcs.
  • starch - 2 tbsp
  • soda - 0.5 tsp
  • peppercorns, salt
  • vegetable oil

1. Pass pork and beef through a meat grinder twice.

2. Add starch, baking soda, pepper, salt and squeezed garlic to the minced meat.

3. Stir the minced meat and gradually add milk. If the minced meat is liquid at first, then add less milk.

4. Beat the minced meat very well.

5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a couple of hours, preferably overnight.

6. Take out the minced meat and form sausages. Grease your hands with vegetable oil before that.

7. Fry the resulting sausages in a pan in vegetable oil.

8. Put the finished products in a saucepan.

9. Put onion, sliced into rings, peppercorns and bay leaf on top.

10. Pour boiling water over everything, add salt to taste, and cook for 30 minutes over low heat.

11. Serve with a side dish. It will be very tasty with mashed potatoes
