Sandwiches can be made not only with sausage, sprats, and fish, but also with boiled eggs, baked mackerel, herbs, vegetables, any cheese, and avocado.
Cook Yulia shared a recipe for delicious sandwiches with sardines, eggs, and onions on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- sardines - 1 b.
- shallots - 1/2 pc.
- eggs (boiled) - 3 pcs.
- cheese - 50 g
- mayonnaise - 1 tbsp
- spices: salt, pepper - to taste
- baguette/loaf
- garlic - 1 clove.
- lettuce leaves, cucumber - for serving
Method of preparation:
1. Drain the liquid from the sardines into a separate bowl, do not pour out. Mash the sardines with a fork until smooth.
2. Separate the white from the yolk, grate separately, grate the cheese as well. Add finely chopped onion. You can use regular onions, but they will have a sharper, richer flavor.
3. Add spices and mayonnaise, mix until smooth. If necessary, add a few tablespoons of sardine liquid for the desired thickness.
4. Cut the baguette into slices. Fry in a little oil on both sides until golden brown. Rub each fried slice with a clove of garlic on one side and spread the spread on top.
