Homemade muffins and pies are a safe treat for tea and coffee. They can be made from any dough, and the following ingredients will add a bright flavor to the baked goods: fruits, berries, chocolate, raisins, spices, and citrus fruits.
Cook Polina shared a recipe for a delicious lemon poppy seed cake on Instagram, which would be the perfect pastry for tea.
Ingredients:
- flour - 230 g
- sugar - 200 g
- eggs - 3 pcs.
- sour cream - 250 ml
- butter - 125 g
- baking powder - 2 tsp.
- zest of one lemon
- lemon juice
- poppy seeds - 50 g
Method of preparation:
1. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add half the sugar from the total amount and sour cream and mix well.
2. Grate the lemon zest. Add lemon juice, mix and add the melted butter. Add the baking powder, remaining sugar and poppy seeds to the flour and mix.
3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir the batter until smooth (no need to do it for a long time).
4. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with flour or semolina. Pour the batter and smooth it well. Bake in a preheated 180-degree oven for 40-45 minutes. Check for doneness with a wooden stick.
