Potato cakes in 15 minutes: a hearty dish for a snack
Plushky is a delicious, hearty, and original dish of Ukrainian cuisine based on potato dough and bacon crusts. They can even be made from yesterday's mashed potatoes. In appearance and cooking method, they are somewhat reminiscent of salty lazy dumplings that can be made with a filling: meat, minced meat, or cheese.
Food blogger Miroslava Krutii shared a recipe for potato cakes on her Instagram page that you can make in 15 minutes if you have mashed potatoes ready.
Ingredients:
- potatoes – 1 kg
- eggs – 2 pcs
- flour – 150 g
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and chop the potatoes, cover with water, and boil until tender. When ready, mash them with spices.
2. Add the eggs and flour to the mashed potatoes. Knead elastic potato dough.
3. Shape the potato dough into a sausage, cut it into portions, and shape them.
4. Boil the biscuits in salted boiling water until tender. Enjoy!
