Ukrainian TV presenter Marichka Padalko revealed the problems she faced at the beginning of her journalistic career. She shared that a producer from Moscow forbade her to present news because she had too "childish a face."

The journalist spoke about this in an interview on Alina Dorotiuk's YouTube channel. She noted that at some point she could have lost her job at 1+1 TV channel, but she was saved by the labor code because she was a mother of small children.

"I spent a year, maybe a year and a half at TSN. And then we had some turbulent times at the channel, i.e. changes in editorial policy. Then we had a new producer from Moscow. I was 30 years old, and he told me: "You have a childish face for news." He compared me to some Russian anchorwoman whom I don't know and said: "She does the weather, and you will do it," the Ukrainian said.

According to Marichka Padalko, at that moment she learned almost simultaneously that she was going to become a mother and would no longer be a TSN presenter. She admits that the news of her pregnancy softened the blow of changing the direction of her work. She recalls that after the focus of the profession shifted from news to lighter, more entertaining content, she was almost fired.

"I actually found myself without a job at the channel. And I suspect that at some point they wanted to fire me. No one said it to my face, but they said that they probably wanted to say goodbye to me. But it seems to me that the labor code saved me at that time. I was a mother of small children and it was actually difficult to fire me," the host said.

Marichka Padalko recalls that the difficult period in her work lasted from 2010 to 2012. She managed to return to the role of news anchor after the editor-in-chief changed and invited her to host the morning edition.
