"X-Men" star Michael Fassbender had an accident during a race: what is the condition of the actor
Famous Irish actor Michael Fassbender had an accident at a race track in France. The star of "X-Men," "Steve Jobs" and other films was taking part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the race "24 Hours of Le Mans" at the Circuit de la Sarthe. His car crashed into a guardrail.
And although the sports car of the owner of "Oscar" is significantly damaged, the actor himself, fortunately, got off with a slight fright. This was reported by the Deadline. The moment of the collision was caught on video (please, scroll to the bottom of the page to watch).
Fassbender was competing in an endurance race in his Porsche 911 and registered for the event through his German Proton Competition team. The actor crashed into the guardrail 15 minutes before the six-hour interval.
"We're broke! The 911 is no longer in the Le Mans 24 race. A few minutes before the end of the race, Michael Fassbender lost control and drove into a barrier with no chance of fixing the damage. Le Mans has been unkind to us this year," Proton Competition team members wrote on their Twitter page after the incident.
Representatives of the International Automobile Racing Association published a video of the incident online.
This was Fassbender's second time participating in an endurance race. Last year the Oscar-winning actor took 51st place in such competitions. The filmmaker does not consider himself a professional racer, but he admits that he is seriously interested in this case.
Earlier OBOZREVATEL wrote that the famous Ukrainian actor Ostap Stupka caused an accident in Golosiivsky district of Kyiv. Investigators determined that the artist, while intoxicated, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a parked car where the 38-year-old driver was sitting behind the wheel. The victim was urgently hospitalized with serious injuries.
