X-Men star Adan Canto passed away: the actor was only 42 years old
Mexican-American actor Adan Canto, star of the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, died at the age of 42. The cause of death was appendix cancer.
The last work of the celebrity was the main role in the TV series The Cleaning Lady, Variety writes. "Adan had a depth of spirit that few people truly knew," the actor's representatives said in a statement.
Fox and WBTV, the creators of the series, also commented on the loss, "We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, it was an honor to have him in the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment family."
Born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, Canto grew up in Del Rio, Texas, where he began his musical career. At the beginning of his career, he wrote songs for Mexican television shows and movies, never dreaming of acting. "I never said I wanted to be an actor when I was a kid. I didn't know. I thought I was going to be a singer and a musician," Adan told Collider.
After his music career stopped bringing the desired results, Canto discovered the field of cinema. "I took up acting and just fell in love with it. It was great!" the Mexican said. "I could apply in this field everything I've always been interested in. So I just came here and it worked out."
For the past two years, Canto has played the role of gangster Arman Morales in the TV series The Cleaning Lady. It was reported that he was going to join season 3, despite the fact that the actor was unable to take part in the filming, which began in December 2023.
Adan Canto's most famous film work is the role of Sunspot in the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Canto is survived by his wife Stephanie Ann Canto and two young children: Roman Alder, three years old, and Eve Josephine, one year old.
