Whose family will they defend?!" Arsen Mirzoian talked about his trip to Moscow and a call from his father in Russia

Mirzoian explained why he couldn't "adapt" in Moscow

Ukrainian singer Arsen Mirzoian, who lived and worked in Moscow for some time in 2007, spoke about the striking differences in the worldview of the two peoples, as well as an unexpected call from his father in Russia. He left his family when his son was only two years old, but after Russia invaded Ukraine, he decided to inquire about his affairs.

The singer reluctantly discussed this in an interview with Slava Demin on YouTube. The Ukrainian does not communicate with his father at all, although he holds no grudges against him.

"We haven't talked, and there was no desire to. Only recently did we get in touch when the full-scale invasion began? My father called as if he was worried about what was happening here," Mirzoian said sparingly.

He did not elaborate on his father's position or the dialogue with him. According to Arsen Mirzoian, he did not feel abandoned or deprived of his father's love as a child, and the "street" replaced the star's male upbringing.

Recalling his work in Russia, the artist shared a telling incident that showed the difference in the ideology of the nations. At that time, the songwriter worked for the TNT TV channel.

"We started to notice it; we didn't understand each other. There were simple cases when we were walking and saw the Cosmos Hotel, a banner with a fighter jet and an inscription: "There is a profession to defend the homeland." We asked our colleagues: "Guys, are you serious? From whom?" All political jokes are taboo in their country; they're not allowed. In 2007, we said it was impossible," the Ukrainian explained.

He also added that the Russians encouraged the author to write content in Russian, but it was alien to Mirzoian. He rarely included Russian songs in his albums, and he didn't want to write them for others at all.

The artist did not feel any difference in payment or prejudice 16 years ago, but the striking differences in worldview did not allow him to reconcile with life in Moscow.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that Arsen Mirzoian named the cause of death of his mother-in-law, People's Artist Nina Matvienko. The legendary "Flower-Soul" hid her illness for a long time.
