What unites all billionaires under 30: Forbes has released interesting research results
Forbes, a prestigious financial and economic magazine, has researched the wealth of all the world's billionaires under 30 to determine their main common feature. None of the young tycoons earned this money on their own.
They all inherited wealth from older relatives. This is only the first wave of billionaire heirs, The Guardian writes.
There are already more billionaires in the world than ever before – 2,781 people – and most of them are expected to pass on their wealth to their children in the coming decades. Currently, billions of dollars are managed by 15 rich people under 30.
Such heirs are, for example, 27-year-old Irishman Firoz Mistri and his 25-year-old brother Zahan, whose fortune is estimated at $4.9 billion due to their shares in Tata Sons. They inherited their 4.6% stake in the company in 2022 after the death of their father Cyrus Mistry.
The youngest billionaires, including girls, are only 19 years old. Livia Voigt, who is worth $1.1 billion thanks to a 3.1% stake in WEG Industries, inherited money from her grandfather, as did her older sister, who is also on the list.
According to the consulting company Cerulli Associates, the younger generation will inherit a total of $70 trillion over the next 20 years.
Interestingly, there are still young and ambitious billionaires who have earned all their wealth on their own, but they are a little over 30. Ben Francis, the British founder of the Gymshark outdoor goods brand, is worth $1.3 billion at the age of 31.
