Metallica's James Hetfield visits wounded Ukrainian defenders

The vocalist and guitarist of the legendary American metal band Metallica, James Hetfield, has supported Ukraine in the war with Russia. The famous rock musician visited wounded Ukrainian defenders in a US hospital who are currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation abroad.

Thus, Hetfield visited the Vail Health Hospital in Colorado. There, he met with our indomitable military men - Roman Denysiuk and Ihor Voynyi. This was reported on Facebook by a representative of Limbs for Liberty, an organisation that helps Ukrainian soldiers who lost limbs in the war.

Kelly Rohrig, a representative of Limbs for Liberty, met the legendary rocker in the car park near the hospital. She invited the star to visit the defenders of Ukraine and thus support their morale. Hetfield gladly agreed.

Rohrig told the musician that Roman Denysiuk had had an unpleasant incident the day before. The Ukrainian, who lost his leg at the front, felt bad, he started having agony, which later led to a fall from his wheelchair. The man sustained new injuries.

As it turned out, both Denysiuk and Voynyi are big Metallica fans. They were in a pleasant shock when they saw their idol in their ward.

"It was unexpected. I didn't even believe at first that it was him. It was a very short but very warm meeting. It would have been nice to meet him around the campfire and have a drink, not in the hospital," commented Voynyi.

And the rocker himself was impressed by the meeting with our heroes. He told Rogue that visiting Ukrainian soldiers in hospital "made his day".

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that the legendary British rock band Pink Floyd raised £500,000 (about 22.3 million hryvnias) to help Ukraine. The musicians managed to get such an impressive amount thanks to the composition Hey Hey Rise Up, which is based on the song "Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow" performed by the leader of the Ukrainian band Boombox Andriy Khlyvnyuk.
