Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko shocked people with an unexpected appearance in a video for a song raising funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Comedian Vasyl Baidak is usually creative in his approach to financial support for the military. This time, he covered the famous hit with the Badstreet Boys and invited a famous beekeeper to collaborate.

The artists sang their song with an appeal to donate to the melody of the track by rock musician Elton John and Blue – Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. The role of the legendary Elton John was played by Viktor Yushchenko. The video was posted on social media.

Influencers recreated the original video almost perfectly – the soloists, four in the original and five in the Ukrainian version performed in a spacious room next to a piano with Viktor Yushchenko sitting at it in the image of Elton John. Although he was not wearing the British star's trademark glasses, his black tuxedo was an integral part of the image. From time to time in the video, the country's most famous beekeeper competed with the boys in arm wrestling and played chess.

The soloists of the Badstreet Boys include singer Volodymyr Dantes, and comedians Anton Tymoshenko, Vasyl Baidak, Oleh Svyshch, and Slava Kedr. They sang the entire song, and the former president only appeared in the chorus with the words "It's true" about the slogan "Yushchenko – Yes!"

Interestingly, the text calls Viktor Yushchenko a "magnet for donations" and a "mental jeweler." And for good reason, as talented artists managed to raise more than half of the amount in a day: 4.4 out of 7 million hryvnias.

"It's true. Badstreet boys and Viktor Andriyovych Yushchenko (we are shocked ourselves) are starting a July fundraiser for 7 million. All donations will be turned into various drones for the 3rd Special Forces and DIU and beads for the Special Forces. Among those who donate 100 UAH or more, we will give away honey from Viktor Andriyovych. That honey is sweeter than this track, although it seems impossible," the influencers lured.

They emphasized that the last line of the song is prophetic, and it goes like this: "And you remember! Just remember that we will destroy the dung country."

Ukrainians in the comments are shocked by the band's creativity. Some call for Elton John to be celebrated so that he can see the band's skill, while others joke about the events of the past:

  • "This is the top! This is true!"
  • "Yushchenko and Tymoshenko are united by a common cause. I haven't seen anything like this since 2004."
  • "So you can go not only from comedy to the presidency but also vice versa?"
  • "Many years ago, someone predicted to Mr. Viktor that he would have a successful collab with a person named Tymoshenko, but they didn't specify exactly when it would happen."
  • "It's a bullshit. The level of collabs is growing and it's scary to imagine what will happen next."
  • "The bees are in shock".
  • "Honey for the ears".
  • "Wow! Viktor Andriyovych is the top".
  • "There probably won't be a more creative collection."

Viktor Yushchenko also reacted to his speech on Facebook. He urged his audience to support the collection and praised the Badstreet boys.

"My dear friends, I am sincerely glad to live and breathe the same air in our Ukraine with such talented young people! The boys have started a collection for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and I ask you to support their initiative. Thank you, my friend, Elton John, for the fantastic composition that my musicians and I tried to recreate! I will be very glad to see you in Ukraine. Glory to the Armed Forces and glory to Ukraine," the former president wrote.
