Vera Brezhneva about life and work in Russia: I am clear with my conscience

Vera Brezhneva talks about life and career in Russia

Singer Vera Galushka, known by her old pseudonym Vera Brezhneva, built her career in Russia for a long time, but with the outbreak of a full-scale war, she condemned the Russian armed aggression and began volunteering and helping Ukraine. After her return to the Ukrainian information space, many people are still angry with the singer because of her "dark" past, but she claims that she owes no one anything and her conscience is clear.

In an interview with Elle magazine, Brezhneva said that hate against her exists only online, but in real life, all people support her. However, she does not expect the anger among Internet users to disappear.

"As it has already become clear, the artists are just the tip of the iceberg, which has been divided into two countries. But since we are in front of everyone's eyes, it is, of course, easiest to say something to us. And this happens only on the Internet, in real life I meet people with whom we support each other, and on social networks we have written, are writing and will continue to write," the singer said.

Brezhneva tries to ignore the negative statements, as she has nothing to regret - the singer has been helping Ukrainians from the very beginning and has been with her people in "difficult times".

"The most important thing for me is that in difficult times I am with my country with my heart and soul. It matters to me. I have done and am doing what I can. I have only myself to wake up with every morning and look myself in the eye in the mirror. With my conscience, I am clean," she explained.

According to Brezhneva, the full-scale invasion caught the singer in Italy, so she began volunteering at warehouses with humanitarian aid from the first days, but she did not have the strength to talk about everything online at the time.

"Since I was in Italy at the time, from the very beginning, the first thing I did was to find the nearest humanitarian aid warehouse and go there to help. My mother and I worked there from morning to evening with other women. In this way, we felt like part of a big, big family, where everyone helps each other, which supports their country in such a difficult time," the woman recalled.
