There are no standards: why the audience was impressed by the representative of Nepal at Miss Universe, who entered the top 20. Photo
On the night of November 19, El Salvador hosted the grand finale of Miss Universe, in which 20 of the brightest finalists competed for the victory. Among the contenders for the crown was Nepal's Jane Garrett, who became the first plus-size contestant in the history of the pageant. The girl managed not only to get into the top 20 but also to win a large army of fans.
Garrett is an ordinary nurse from Nepal who managed to prove to the whole world that there are no "beauty standards". OBOZ.UA collected photos of the beauty from the contest.
For the final appearance on stage, the Nepalese representative chose a tight-fitting light blue dress with blue patterns and a deep neckline.
One of Jane's most impressive appearances took place during a swimsuit fashion show. After that, the girl's social networks exploded with thousands of enthusiastic comments, compliments and words of gratitude from viewers who were inspired by the example of the curvaceous beauty.
Internet users wrote: "We love you, thank you for representing so many girls," "I'm so glad that contests like this are no longer broadcasting stereotypical ideas about female beauty," "Girl, we all support you," "Beauty, thank you for representing all plus size women and those with hormonal issues. I have hypothyroidism and it's so hard for me to lose weight. You are an inspiration.", "Unbelievable! Such an inspiration. You are my winner!"
Of course, there was also some hate against Garrett. However, the girl herself admits that she no longer responds to the unconstructive criticism of evil tongues, as she realizes the importance of her message.
We would like to remind you that the winner of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant is Nicaragua's Sheinnis Palacios. See the photo of the winner in our article.
