The successful British actor Julian Sands, who starred in Oscar-winning films, was found dead. In January of this year he disappeared in the mountains in California. The star was searched for almost six months, and the remains of his body were discovered the other day.

Experts managed to identify the actor, told BBC journalists. The cause of death has not yet been established (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).

Julian Sands disappeared on January 13 while trying to climb Mt. Bold in the San Gabriel Mountains of California. He drove up to the mountains in a car that was later found.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department issued an official statement the day before that the remains found in the mountains are those of Sands.

"The cause of death is still being investigated, and the results of further examinations are pending. We would like to thank all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly trying to find Mr. Sands," the statement said.

The actor starred in film projects "Arachnophobia," "Leaving Las Vegas," "Blacksmith," "Ocean's Thirteen," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Dexter," "Crooked House," etc.

He was left with three children from different marriages. The star's family hoped until the last day that Sands was still alive.
