The star of the cult movie "Scarface" Angel Salazar has died
Cuban-American actor and comedian Angel Salazar has died at the age of 68. The artist became most famous for playing the role of Tony Montana's assistant, Chi Chi, in the crime drama Scarface.
According to the Daily Mail, the tragedy was confirmed by the star's representative and confidant Anne Wingsong. The celebrity passed away due to heart problems in a dream while staying at his friend's house.
Before his triumphant appearance in the iconic film, Angel Salazar worked on films: "A Stranger Observes (1928), A Proud Walk (1979), Nights on the Boulevard (1979), and Where the Buffalo Roam (1980). The man did not stop acting throughout his life, so before his death, he participated in 17 different projects that were at different stages of production.
In addition to his skillful acting, the actor was known for his talent in humor. Angel Salazar starred in several comedy episodes of HBO and appeared on the stage of the American reality TV show The Last Comedian.
After the official announcement of the tragic news, most of the star's friends and colleagues expressed their condolences and honored the artist's memory on social media:
"When I returned home from filming, I found out that my dear close friend Angel Salazar had died. Angel and I worked together for many years. I will miss his silly pranks and funny laugh. I am very sad. I love you, my friend. May you rest in peace," wrote the actress Ona Carol.
"Rest in peace, my friend Angel Salazar. We worked together a few months ago. A comedy legend," said comedian Auggie Smith.
