One of dictator Vladimir Putin's favorite opera singers, Anna Netrebko, who is traveling around Europe with her concerts, will not be able to perform in Lucerne, Switzerland, to the disappointment of Russian culture lovers. The reason for this is the planned peace summit and the perceived "threat to public order."

According to the Swiss newspaper Luzerner Zeitung, the woman was to perform with her husband, Azerbaijani opera singer Yusif Eyvazov. The concert, which was to have taken place on June 1 at the Center for Culture and Congresses, was canceled at the request of the regional government because Netrebko has a controversial public perception and could become a "threat to public order."

"Anna Netrebko's concert at the CCC has been canceled after the intervention of the Lucerne government. Those responsible for the CCC saw a "threat to public order". The cancellation is also related to the peace conference in Burgenstock," the statement said.

The global peace summit is scheduled for June 15-16 in Burgenstock (half an hour's drive from Lucerne), and will be attended by leaders from about 100 countries. Of course, Putin will not be at the conference, and the topic will be the peaceful settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine.

It is worth reminding that Anna Netrebko was Vladimir Putin's proxy in the election, received awards from him, spoke at the opening of the Sochi Olympics, and was even photographed with the flag of Novorossiya along with one of the separatist leaders.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that this is not the first time a Putinist concert abroad has been canceled. After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukrainian Lyudmyla Monastyrska replaced Netrebko in the Metropolitan Opera's production, and the contract with the Russian was terminated because of her support for the Putin regime.

Later, she decided that publicly condemning the war would help her clear her reputation and even began to make excuses for meeting with the dictator.
