The King of Great Britain has been diagnosed with cancer - Buckingham Palace

King Charles III has cancer

King Charles III of Great Britain has been diagnosed with cancer. It is not known what type of cancer it is, but it was detected during a recent surgical intervention that the monarch underwent due to an enlarged prostate gland (this neoplasm was benign).

This became known from a statement published on the official website of Buckingham Palace on Monday, February 5. "A separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have revealed a form of cancer," the statement said.

Today, the King has already begun treatment, during which doctors have advised him to postpone public duties. Buckingham Palace assured that Charles III will continue to deal with state affairs and official documentation as usual.

"The King is grateful to his medical team for the quick intervention made possible by his recent hospital surgery. He is still quite positive about his treatment and hopes to return to full public work as soon as possible," the statement said.

It is noted that the monarch decided to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation. He also hopes that this can contribute to public understanding of all those who suffer from cancer around the world.
