The Eurovision 2023 voting system has been updated: detailed instructions on how to cast your vote

The last time this voting principle was used was in 2009

On Tuesday, May 9, Liverpool will host the first semi-final of the 67th international song contest Eurovision-2023 on behalf of Ukraine. The show will begin at 22:00 Kiev time and will be attended by 15 countries. As it became known on January 31, 2023, Ukrainians will only be able to vote in the second semi-final, that is, on May 11, and in the grand final, May 13. In the first semi-final, only the founding countries (Italy, Germany and France), as well as viewers from the participating countries will vote.

OBOZREVATEL details about the new voting system. It should be noted immediately that the results of the semifinals will be determined only by the votes of the audience, without jury evaluations. The last time such a principle was used in 2009.

In the first semi-final, in addition to viewers from the three "big five" countries, which we have already mentioned, Norway, Malta, Serbia, Latvia, Portugal, Ireland, Croatia, Switzerland, Israel, Moldova, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Finland can vote for the favorite.

 

As for Ukraine, it will be possible to vote on May 11 and 13 via the official Eurovision app for Android or iOS, as well as by texting with the serial number of the corresponding performance to the number 7576. Information will appear in the live broadcasts when it is possible to do so.

In the final, the votes of the national jury and the audience from each participating country will traditionally be counted separately.

Recall that from Ukraine will perform duet TVORCHI with the song "Heart of Steel", which was written under the influence of war. The group got to the finals of the show.
