The life of the late British Princess Diana was documented by the royal photographer Anwar Hussein, who is 85 years old. His exhibition with the most symbolic shots of the Duchess was opened on May 25 in London so that the public could learn about the stories behind the popular photos.

The dress of revenge

At a charity event in 1994, Lady Dee appeared in a revealing black dress with an open shoulder line a few hours after her husband Prince Charles publicly confessed to cheating. This image broke all royal rules and went down in history as the "revenge dress."

In the lens, the photographer saw a strong-minded but morally broken woman who, despite everything, decided to be herself and bravely meet the public's interest. However, according to Hussein, no one expected to see the princess that day.

Favorite photo

"This was Diana's favorite photo," the photographer said, showing a shot of her holding a young boy with cancer during a hospital visit in Pakistan in 1996. The child died shortly afterward, and the Duchess grieved for some time afterward.

There was a very strong smell of chemicals in the room, but Diana could not resist hugging the boy.

Loneliness

In the photo, taken in 1992, Diana sits in front of the Taj Mahal in India, where couples often pose. On that day, Charles said he didn't have time to be with his wife, so she was photographed on the bench alone.

"She ended up posing in front of him, in front of this symbol of love. Soon after, they announced their separation," the photographer said.

By the way, 24 years later, another photo was taken there – a shot of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. Two other people posed in the same place, in love with each other.
