Oleksandr Teslenko translated the hit "Snow" by Iryna Bilyk into Ukrainian

Since February 24, the trend of translating old Russian-language hits into Ukrainian has become very popular among Ukrainian pop artists. However, sometimes it is not the singers themselves who translate the songs, but their fans. This occurred with the hit song "Snow" by the People's Artist of Ukraine, Iryna Bilyk. Blogger-singer Oleksandr Teslenko recorded a Ukrainian-language cover of the famous song.

The influencer's translation sparked some disagreements in the comments, particularly due to stylistic errors. However, most listeners agreed that the Ukrainian translation of the song "Snow" sounds much more melodic. Oleksandr posted the video on TikTok, where it has already gone viral.

Thus, the blogger's cover has garnered over 163 thousand views (as of the time of writing).

In the original and well-known lyrics of the song, Bilyk sings: "Why is the snow so cruel, leaving your footprints? And why do you run and run from me in circles? It keeps me awake till morning, melted snow is water. You just need to know that I love you forever."

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Teslenko performed: "Why is the snow so hard? It leaves your footprints. And you're running in circles. And you run away from me. It keeps me awake until the early hours. The melted snow is water. You only need to know one thing. I love without return."

Commenters advised the Ukrainian to correct some mistakes and encouraged him to contact Iryna Bilyk with a proposal to sing the Ukrainian version of the song in a duet.

As you may know, back in 2010, the Ukrainian singer presented this song to her Russian colleague, Philipp Kirkorov, at his personal request. Today, Kirkorov is one of the Kremlin's main jesters who supports the war. Earlier, Bilyk recalled in tears how she wrote him a message after the full-scale invasion. But the Putinist hypocritically ignored his former friend in response.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukrainian rap artist Yarmak has covered his cult hit "22" ("My country will not fall to its knees"), which became the anthem of Euromaidan in 2014. The updated track was titled "My Country" and was performed in Ukrainian. In it, the musician slightly changed the lyrics, updating them to the realities of a full-scale war against Russia.
