"Tame" the leopard, or how to combine things with a capricious print so as not to look vulgar: stylist's tips

There are many stereotypes about animalistic prints. Some skeptics call them too provocative and vulgar, while others are convinced that only brave and eccentric people can wear them. However, the perception of such clothes depends on the stylization and patterns (scale, saturation, rhythm and palette).

Ukrainian stylist Yana Platonova wrote about this in Instagram. In the post she shared tricks that will help every lady wear a leopard print, and have a noble and elegant look.

1. Combine leopard print with a "native" palette

The expert advises to wear "leopard" things together with black, as well as all shades of brown and beige. Black enhances the print and makes it more expressive. So you will definitely not miscalculate with the combination of things. Also, the stylist notes that the combination "leopard + leopard" will rather work for epatage, but it is unlikely that you will create a great image for every day.

2. Add no more than one "leopard" piece to the look

A winning look is to wear only one thing in an animalistic print. It can be outerwear, a dress, pants, a top, a T-shirt, shoes or an accessory. "The leopard is definitely a proud animal, but you can easily make friends with it and make it more fun, youthful, casual," Yana Platonova rightly noted.

3. use the neutralizing rule

To make sure that the leopard print is not too bold in the image, add sports elements, hoodies, denim or solid-colored shirts and sneakers. You can also experiment with more muted versions of the print rather than the classic, too saturated ones.
